Located in Shorewood, this upper-level lounge was originally designed as a ballroom, defined by sweeping curved windows and original architectural details. Today, it serves as a lively gathering space for extended family. A saturated blue color wash envelops the room, highlighting the coved ceiling and creating a more intimate atmosphere. At the center, a redesigned bar features custom cabinetry, smoked mirror, brass shelving, and a checkerboard marble floor, while a small vestibule introduces patterned wallpaper and a gold leaf ceiling. The fireplace was reworked with a cast stone surround and paired with furnishings designed for gathering, including a game table, reupholstered antique chairs, and custom window seating. Vintage artwork lines the walls, illuminated with picture lighting. The result is a layered, welcoming space that honors the home’s history while supporting everyday family life.
