Decorating with neutral colors is king here at Stone House and is a safe and timeless way to go. Just because these tame and neutral colors are great for staging a home, it doesn’t mean you can’t add a pop of color with bright and fun hues.
Sometimes you may want to spice up your room!
No matter your comfort level, there is always a way to incorporate pops of color into any space. Some of our favorite ways include:
- Walls
- Rugs
- Accent Chairs
- Artwork
- Pillows
- Other Accessories
All these elements can be utilized to add just the right amount of color to your space. If you still aren’t convinced, take a look at these photographs below to see how we add pops of color to a space, whether it’s simply adding in fresh flowers or striking the perfect balance with multiple saturated hues.
A common question we get is, “How do you pick the color you want to feature?”
One way is to take a look at what common colors you have in your inventory of decor and decide from that. If you are starting from scratch we suggest you pick your favorite color or one that makes you feel at home. Lastly, one very important thing to keep in mind is to not overdo the color. You don’t want the entire space turning into one color. We recommend starting small and gradually adding pieces to your design. Some examples would include a pillow or a piece of artwork, then add to that.
If your pop of color is something large, like an area rug, we suggest you keep it to just the rug, and perhaps a small coordinating pillow.
Alright, my friend that is all we have for you today. We hope these tips on how to add a pop of color to your home were extremely helpful to you!

I am obsessed with Terra cotta lately. I don’t think it has ever gone out of style.
Agreed, it is timeless!
I adore terra cotta with a sage green or a seafoam. I love very toned-down colors to add to my default of black, white, and terra cotta.
Love those combinations!
