Whether you have a large or small pantry, it is an important part of your home… that can often get messy fast. With multiple bags, boxes, and cans it can be tricky to find a space for everything.

Even though it is not a focal point and not many people or your guests will see it, it doesn’t mean it should be overlooked. Today we are sharing how you can make the most out of your small pantry with pantry organization ideas so you can make the most out of your small pantry closet!

Storage Bins or Baskets

There is nothing worse than opening your pantry door and trying to find a snack item when everything seems to be on top of each other and hard to reach or worse maybe your items fall to the ground.

Luckily there is an easy solution… Storage bins or storage baskets.

These are one of the easiest ways to make sure everything stays upright and organized. If you want to take it a step further you can label the storage bins or baskets and organize them by category. For instance, you could have a snack bin that holds granola bars, crackers, and similar items. This will help you keep these items in place instead of stuffing them in.

Make Use of the Back of the Door

Maximizing your space is essential when you have a small pantry, so that means using all available space including the back of your pantry door!

Add some wire racks to hold spices or smaller jars. Don’t add anything too heavy here otherwise it could break! Another option is building a custom storage rack on the back of your door if you want to customize it to you and your family’s needs.

Label Everything

Having containers or utilizing baskets are great for storing items, but to keep everything neat and tidy adding labels to your baskets or food storage will make finding and storing the right items a breeze!

Shop Food Storage

Use Food Storage Containers

Storing your dry goods like flour, sugar, and other items should be kept in airtight containers. This storage technique is ideal for any and all dry goods that often come in a non-resealable and not very practical packaging. Sometimes a rubber band will not do the trick!

To keep your items fresh and last longer place them in storage containers. Plus, these allow you to store more items in your pantry and you can stack them on each other if needed without being afraid of them toppling to the ground. Look at vertical and horizontal containers and mix and match them because it will help you optimize space for certain items!

Keep Your Kids in Mind

If you have kids, putting snacks at a level they can reach that are labeled in baskets can help prevent making a mess and disorganizing your pantry.
