We’ll guide you step-by-step on how to go about creating the perfect fall tablescape.
Shop the Look
1. Create the Lay the Foundation
First things first, clear the dining table so you can start from a blank slate. Then place your first piece, the foundational layer, which can be a tablecloth or a runner. You can choose classic colored or French-stripe table linens or a woven fall runner with dinnerware-inspired napkin rings that captures the right patterns and colors of the season!
2. Set the Table
Choose pumpkin-themed dinner plates, salad plates, and serving platters, or a neutral color dinnerware set that can be used for any season, including a thanksgiving table setting. You can layer the dinner plates with wooden charger plates and add bowls to the dinner plates. Next, place the silverware and you’ll be all set.
3. Fill in with Other Dining Essentials
Once the dinnerware is set, add other essentials like salt and pepper shakers, and glassware.
4. Arrange the Fall Centerpiece and other Decor
Set the tone of the party with meaningful seasonal pieces like this harvest floral arrangement and garland with pumpkins. You can even set large glass jars and fill them with cosmos, ranunculus, alliums, and other autumnal florals. If you’re in the mood for some DIY, hole punch dry leaves with a small, heart-shaped puncher and fill the confetti into the glass jars. It’s fully biodegradable and so cute! Lastly, place these pillar candle holders around the floral arrangement. Light the candles when you’re ready to serve. Optionally, you can use LED candles that reflect the same warm glow as fall candles.
5. Complete with Small Tabletop Decorative Pieces
Now that the dinnerware is set and larger decorative pieces are placed, it’s time to fill in the remaining spaces. Get creative and adorn the table with pumpkin tabletop decor, maybe some gnomes or even mushrooms.
Apply these easy tablescape ideas and create a lovely table setting for fall that will encourage your family and friends to feel comfortable and enjoy the lovely season. If you decide to recreate this look make sure to tag us on Instagram of your photos with #StoneHouse!
