DESIGN ASSISTANT

Stone House Collective is looking for a Design Assistant to join our WI team. We are seeking a dynamic individual who thrives in a fun-filled, energy-driven environment, and embraces the “can do” mentality. The Design Assistant supports the Junior and Associate Designers to translate the design aesthetic vision into client presentations and embody Stone House Collective style. The Design Assistant will work collaboratively with Project Manager and Junior Designer.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direction of Junior + Associate Designer(s) 
  • Interface with Junior Designer to coordinate and attend vendor and installer site visits, workroom visits, in-person meetings to ensure successful project deliverables
  • Creation, organization, and maintenance of client files
  • Responsible for providing all clients with floor plans, furniture layouts, moodboards and schematic design created in Canva, AutoCAD, and/or Revit 
  • Maintain clients project tracking, including hours and budget
  • Creation of Pinterest and cloud storage sites for clients
  • Responsible for clipping client selections to Houzz and maintaining and updating Houzz 
  • Oversee accurate project action items lists in Asana and creating client projects 
  • Participate in the training and development of onboarding new Design Teammates
  • Attend sits visits with the Design Team, take notes, measurements and photos. Enter into company software for records
  • Sample management and ordering 
  • Create and Maintain Client Experience (Welcome gift, furniture care guide, wrap up gift)
  • Opening of new trade accounts and maintaining existing 
  • Prepare for all client meetings in the office
  • Work under the direction of Junior Designer to pull accessories and create mood boards for design install
  • Work with Junior Designer and Project Manager to manage install day. Schedule photography, line up any trades needed, run any necessary errands, pick up accessories, and be at install to help & style.
  • Participate in the hiring and management of Design Interns 
  • Oversee photoshoot coordination, sourcing, styling, and onsite facilitation as delegated by Designer
  • Coordinate yard signs for design clients 
  • Attend industry events, trade shows and openings to be knowledgeable on the latest styles and trends
  • Attend/work occasional Stone House events (typically 1 per month) which may occur in the evening or on the weekend

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Interior Design
  • Minimum of 1 year of interior design experience 
  • Canva, Excel, Houzz, Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD + SketchUp or Revit
  • Provide top-level innovative design concepts
  • Understanding of selecting and specifying lighting, furnishings, hardware, floor/window covers, materials and finishings
  • Interest in learning the multiple layers of Interior Design
  • Works well under deadlines and pressure to produce deliverables and meet deadlines
  • Interest in managing Design Interns
