There is something about the natural and organic appeal of elements that makes a room can make a room feel more calming, peaceful, and above all welcoming. Being out in nature has the ability to calm the mind, boost moods, and refresh the body. But if you live in a city, chances are that you don’t get to spend enough time out in the forest.

So here are some easy ways to add natural elements into your home!
Part of our Stone House Style is mixing natural items within our designs.
First, let’s define what natural elements mean to us. Natural elements can be plants (alive or fake), fresh flowers, or natural materials such as Jute or wood.
We love how something living makes a room feel alive and welcoming. It is also a great way to add texture and depth to your designs.

One of the easiest ways to incorporate nature in the home is to purchase plants. Big, leafy, and green houseplants are great accent pieces for any room, and smaller plants, such as succulents, make for wonderful table additions.
If you can’t get live plants… or can’t keep them alive (guilty as charged!), fake plants are a great alternative and will do the trick! A little green goes a long way when staging a home.
HOT TIP: Be sure to keep that in mind, you are not trying to make a space feel like a greenhouse. This is one of those times when ‘less is more’ truly applies.
Coffee tables are also a great place to show off your own personal style. This is an ideal place in the home to incorporate natural elements.
Another way to add natural elements into your home is to incorporate more sunlight! If your curtains or drapes are a dark color or a heavier material, they could be blocking out the sun. For rooms that need a bit more sun, incorporate sheer white drapes or white shades to help brighten the room as well as give your home a modern look.

Take a look at some of our stages below showing how we incorporate natural items into our homes we stage.
Now tell us in the comments, what is your favorite way to incorporate nature in your design?
